RapidMiner Selected as Finalist for MIT Sloan CIO Symposium’s Innovation Showcase

RapidMiner Platform Honored as an Innovative, Advanced Analytics Solution for the Enterprise

BOSTON – May 5, 2014 – Pioneering predictive analytics leader RapidMiner today announced that the 11th Annual MIT Sloan CIO Symposium has named the company as one of ten finalists for the 2014 Innovation Showcase. The showcase will highlight the RapidMiner platform, which helps organizations leverage their data to inform future business decisions. RapidMiner will receive key exposure to many of the world’s most creative and influential IT executives at the Symposium on May 21, 2014 in Cambridge, Mass.

“Advanced analytics is a rapidly-growing field that can significantly impact the way enterprises analyze data to make predictions that will define their future success,” said Ingo Mierswa, co-founder and CEO of RapidMiner. “We’re looking forward to the Innovation Showcase because it will provide the opportunity for Boston’s most innovative organizations and influencers to experience first-hand how easy it is to both use RapidMiner and harness the power of predictive analytics.”

According to a recent Research and Markets study, the global advanced analytics market is expected to increase 30 percent year-over-year between 2014 and 2018. With more than 35,000 production deployments and customers including Lufthansa, PayPal, Pepsi, Sanofi, Siemens, Telenor and Volkswagen, RapidMiner is one of the most widely known and used advanced analytics platforms, providing powerful software that helps organizations in a range of industries turn data into actionable output. Specifically, the company helps organizations in industries such as manufacturing, financial services, telecommunications and life sciences decrease churn, reduce fraud, and identify top customer prospects, and much more.

The company was recently positioned by Gartner, Inc. in the Leaders quadrant of the first “Gartner Magic Quadrant for Advanced Analytics Platforms,” published February, 19, 2014.1 The report is available for download at https://rapidminer.com/leader-gartners-magic-quadrant-advanced-analytics/.

“We are thrilled to have received such a high number of qualified Innovation Showcase submissions,” said David L. Verrill, executive director of the MIT Center for Digital Business, and co-chair of the Innovation Showcase. “Each of the ten finalists we have chosen represents innovative technologies that have the potential to positively impact growth, and help CIOs move their digital enterprises forward successfully.”

After careful consideration, the Innovation Showcase judges evaluated and selected the RapidMiner platform for this honor based on four important criteria:
• Actively provides a B2B or B2C enterprise IT solution product to the market;
• Is a start-up with less than $10 million in 2013 revenues or Series A funding;
• Is selling enterprise IT solutions to CIOs or corporate IT departments; and
• Shows innovation and/or strategic value with potential impact on the top and/or bottom lines.
