Scoring Data with RapidMiner Auto Model and Zapier

love love love RapidMiner Auto Model.

It’s just so fast and fun to upload some data and watch Auto Model build the best model. Over the years I’ve learned enough about Studio to build processes from scratch, but ever since Auto Model was released I just can’t stop using it. That’s why I was so excited when we launched Auto Model for the RapidMiner AI Cloud.

Wait, what’s an AI Cloud?

The RapidMiner AI Cloud is a long term product strategy that will eventually result in being able to use RapidMiner products on top of public / private clouds. Auto Model is the first product we’ve released for the AI Cloud, you can check it out here: go.rapidminer.com.

Just like the Auto Model inside of RapidMiner Studio, with Auto Model in the AI Cloud you can create predictive models in 5 clicks. But there’s something special about Auto Model in the AI Cloud: you can deploy models in a single click. That makes it really easy to integrate your model into existing applications and business processes.

And in my opinion the easiest way integrate a model with other applications in using Zapier, which has connectors to nearly every application that exists. So I put together a quick video on how to build a model in Auto Model and then score new data in Google Sheets. Here’s how it works:

  1. Create a model using Auto Model.
  2. On the results screen, select the model you want to deploy and click “Manage Deployment”. This will create an API for your model.
  3. Create a new Zap in Zapier that takes a row from a Google Sheet, sends it to the model using the API, and updates the row with the precision from the model.

That’s it! In my demo I use the Titanic data set and score the data in Google Sheets. But this really could be anything…

I walk through all of this step-by-step so you should be able to follow along. Enjoy!
