Certifications

The RapidMiner Certification Program was created to recognize professional users of the RapidMiner Studio and RapidMiner Server software products. Certified users have demonstrated an in-depth understanding of the data analysis software solutions provided by RapidMiner. RapidMiner has developed international standards based on experience, survey results and user feedback for different levels of experience.

Analyst Level

Data Mining / Predictive Analytics with RapidMiner Studio and RapidMiner Server: Level 1
This course is a two-day introduction to the foundations of data mining, business analytics, and RapidMiner software. After this training course, participants will have a complete understanding of how RapidMiner Studio and RapidMiner Server work and are used. They will be able to create predictive models in the standard data environments found within most analyst positions. A high number of practical exercises ensure that the participants will be able to transfer the gained knowledge to their own data mining problems, solving them quickly and easily.

After the training course participants will be able to:

  • perform basic data preparations
  • build initial predictive models
  • evaluate model quality
  • score new data sets

This course and its following course, ‘Data Mining / Predictive Analytics with RapidMiner and RapidMiner Server: Level 2’, are the recommended preparation for the RapidMiner Analyst certification exam.

Data Mining / Predictive Analytics with RapidMiner Studio and RapidMiner Server: Level 2
This course is a two-day continuation of the foundations of data mining, business analytics, and RapidMiner software. After this training course, participants will have a deeper understanding of how RapidMiner Studio and RapidMiner Server work and are used. They will be able to create predictive models in the standard data environments found within most analyst positions as well as in many more uncommon environments. A high number of practical exercises ensure that the participants will be able to transfer the gained knowledge to their own data mining problems, solving them quickly and easily.

After the training course participants will be able to:

  • perform the most necessary and common data preparations
  • build sophisticated predictive models
  • evaluate model quality based on different criteria
  • deploy data mining models

This course and its preceding course, ‘Data Mining / Predictive Analytics with RapidMiner and RapidMiner Server: Level 1’, are the recommended preparation for the RapidMiner Analyst certification exam.

Expert Level

Text Mining and Web Mining with RapidMiner Studio and RapidMiner Server
This training course is an introduction into knowledge discovery from unstructured, data-like text documents. It focuses on the necessary preprocessing steps and the most successful methods for automatic text classification — including Naive Bayes and Support Vector Machines (SVM) — and text clustering. Many practical exercises for different settings (e.g., e-mail spam detection and sentiment analysis of web pages) will enable the participants to transfer the gained knowledge to their own text mining problems.

After the training course participants will be able to:

  • identify the processes for processing unstructured data
  • transform text data into a structured format
  • apply different statistical text processing methods
  • perform text classification / text clustering

This course is a two-day survey of the most advanced possibilities for data mining, business analytics, and RapidMiner software. After this training course, participants will have a comprehensive understanding of how RapidMiner Studio and RapidMiner Server work and are used in complex settings and in non-standard situations. In particular, automatic process optimizations and as the handling of larger data sets are covered in this course. Time Series Analysis and Forecasting with RapidMiner Studio and RapidMiner Server
This training course provides a two-day introduction into the foundations of statistical learning for forecasting / predictions. Analyzing data changes over time and forecasting future time points are among the most important tasks for data analysts. The topics of this course include the preprocessing steps for numerical data transformations, statistical regression methods, and validation. A high number of practical exercises on this level ensure that the participants will be able to transfer the gained knowledge to their own prediction problems.

After the training course participants will be able to:

Data Mining for Sales and Marketing
This course demonstrates how data mining can be employed to optimize your sales. It will show how customer data can be analyzed and modeled to better target your marketing activities. It will also explain how such customer models can help predict customer behavior, identify chances and risks (like churn), and predict total sales to optimize your central workflows.

Participants will learn the practical steps necessary to create such models with RapidMiner software. They will gain experience applying direct marketing models that can be easily adapted to their specific requirements.

Data Mining in Finance and Financial Forecasting
This course demonstrates how data mining can be employed in the financial industry.  It will show how banks, investment funds, insurance companies, sophisticated private traders, and other financial institutions can benefit from the use of data analysis, particularly of financial time series like stock market prices and currency exchange rates. It will explain the data mining techniques and models, from pre-processing to validation, that are useful for making numerical predictions in financial markets. This course provides an introduction into the employment of data mining concepts and methods in various tasks related to manufacturing. It describes the analysis of production, machine, sensor, product, order, sales, and market data, and how to create models for predicting machine failure, product quality, demand, supply, prices, sales, and more, reducing failure times and costs, improving quality, and maximizing profits.
